THEOPHILE OBENGA
Dr. Theophile Obenga, who is currently a Professor in the Department of African American Studies at Temple University, is a Professor of Ancient History and Egyptian Language (Medu Netcher, Hieroglyphs) at University Marien Ngouabi, Brazzville, Congo, Central Africa.
Dr. Obenga is a member of the French Society of Egyptology (Paris) and participated with Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop in the UNESCO sponsored colloquium, "The peopling of Ancient Egypt and the decipherment of the Meroitic Script", in Cairo 1974.
He is a colleague of the late renowned scholar, Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop whose comparative methodology for the study of ancient societies has generated innovative studies in the Nile Valley Civilization.
